I Love Math

Hi my name is Tonya, and I love Math.

This is what I must say to myself every day. My mantra.

I'm currently receiving help in math at least once a week by Marilyn here at the Woman to Woman program. On Monday nights at X-CEL college transition program, I'm being tutored in math. Then at home my twelve year-old son and thirteen year-old daughter has been helping me.

Although its time consuming, it feels good to know how to do something you've run from, because of fear.

Today, I no longer fear math, but I love the fact that I understand new math problems every day.  So when I say "I love math," I'm not saying it's my strongest area of learning-because it's far from that. What I'm saying is that,  I understand what I'm doing now, and to understand is to love.
