Simply Chantal T.

My name is Chantal Tejada and I am now apart of the CWU’s program. Coming here I’ve learned of many opportunities for my future. Being here is a great experience and I would like to state that for those woman who felt they lost hope in anything or everything, this is a place for you.
I am a single 20 year old mother of a wonderful baby boy who is now 4 years of age. I was in Boston, MA but raised in the town of Somerville, MA. My life as a child was great and full of fun. Up until I moved to Dorchester, MA at 14 things seemed simple for me. Dorchester was a place that I had to get used of. As many have heard, it wasn’t a great place for young teenagers especially because of the violence and city trouble that was happening. I joined a new life of peer-pressure and a “trying to fit in” environment. At 15 my newborn joined my life and while having a child was a wonderful and an exciting experience for me I didn’t consider the consequences of what was ahead of me. I went through a few years of struggle with going back to school and finding a direction for myself but I managed to pick myself off my feet and got my GED at 18. That following year I joined a school for medical assistant. As for the economy, finding a job has become very difficult which brings me hear to the beginning of my journey in CWU.

Hi Chantel,
My name is Christina W. I am 43yrs of age. I have done just about everything and feel I have accomplished nothing. I thank you for sharing your story, it gives me hope. I was wondering how things were turning out for you?. I also, was considering Medical Asst. or Dental Asst., I'm not sure at this point. I find myself at a crossroad at this point in my life and my Doctor suggested this organization to me. I went through a divorce 5yrs ago, have no children, I have some college but, was unable to finish due to a death in my family. I was also diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1999. If that was not enough, right? Anyway I hope things are going well for you and your family. Maybe we'll meet one day? Take Care, Sinicerely, Christina W
