A typical day with NADAMS

A typical day with me begins at 6:30 am. I wake up my daughter to get her ready for school. I start by washing her face and brushing her gums, making sure any milk wasn’t left on her face throughout the night. While she sits on the bed and watches me I sing her lullaby’s while choosing her something to wear. After I get her dress I make her a little breakfast snack before putting on her coat, just enough to last her to school for the big breakfast. After her coat and hat is on I grab her bag and immediately go down stairs and wait for her van.

Within 10 to 20 minutes her van arrives and I strap her in her seat and sign her pick up log and close the door and watch the van drive off kisses. I make my way back up stairs and start choosing my outfit for the day. After I have chosen what I want to wear I get in the shower and get dressed. My hair goes next which usually takes the longest depending on what I am wearing. Finally I am done and I find something to munch on. I make my bed and clean up any things I might have left around. Then I am out the door.

I take the Public Transportation to class which takes me 20 minutes. I start class off in computers which normally takes 3 hours and then I prepare for lunch. Sometimes I go out for lunch or sometimes I eat in and that also depends on what I ate the night before. After an hour lunch I attend my second half of the day which varies from week to week which lasted about 2 hours. Around 3:30 would be a normal time class is completely over for the day. I take 20 minutes to travel back home which is by now 3:50. I go up stairs and place by bag down and take my coat off while turning on the heat. I now go back down stairs and it’s now between 4 and 4:10 and my daughters van arrives.

I take her off the bus and sign the log and continue back up stairs. The room is warm and I start taking her cloths off changing her into cloths that she can play in. I feed her a snack and let her play with her toys. Around 6:30 I feed her dinner usually the same thing I eat that night and let her continue to play until bath time. Bath time begins at 8:00 and after bath I give her a bottle and lay her down for the night. On a good night she will go straight to sleep and other nights it could take longer. After she’s asleep I work on homework, housing applications or any toys lying around. Around 10 or 10:30 I put my night cloths on and head for bed then start the next day all over again.

My best part of my day is taking my daughter off the van. Seeing her smile when she see’s me makes my day worth any obstacles I may had face. My Biggest struggle of my day is when my daughter do arrives she never wants to take a nap. I am sometimes overwhelmed with my day that I desperately need rest. But because she is so active and full of energy I only pray that at bed time she goes right to sleep.
