It's that time of year again—Snow has begun falling on bare limbs and sidewalks, children are beginning to dream about what they'll unwrap on Christmas morning, and people everywhere are…coughing, sneezing, and slipping on ice. In the cold winter months weather-related injuries increase, and germs become nearly impossible to avoid. When hand washing isn't enough to protect us from the evil little invisible beings, we rely on our health care providers to help us out, but if you're unemployed or homeless, it can be hard to know where to look.

Here are just a few of the many free health clinics that Boston has to offer:

Cambridge Health Alliance
230 Highland Ave, Somerville
(617) 591-6769

Centro Latino de Chelsea
267 Broadway Street, Chelsea
(617) 884-3238

North End Community Health Committee, Inc.
322 Hanover St, Boston
(617) 742-9570

Outreach Van Project- Boston University
715 Albany St, Boston
(617) 414-1039

Waltham Area Free Health Center
Immanuel United Methodist Church
545 Moody St, Waltham
(781) 893-7250

If you're looking for something closer to home, Healthcare for the Homeless can refer you to specific area shelters. For Boston referrals call (617) 414-7779. For Cambridge, call (617) 591-6765.
